Rules And Conditions Of Entry
PLEASE ENSURE THAT TRACTORS & PLOUGHS HAVE BEEN CLEANED BEFORE ENTERING FARM.

Society Rules and Conditions.
1. Entries in Local Classes will be taken from a 15-mile radius of Bridgwater, and any student attending Bridgwater College or Brymore School.
2. Entrance Fees must accompany the Entry Forms.
3. Any other person riding on either tractor or plough will mean competitor maybe disqualified at Chief Steward’s discretion.
4. Competitors must be in the field and ready to start at 10.00 a.m.
High cut (class 2) may start at 9:30am
Provender and produce entries must be staged by 10.00am and not be removed before 3.30pm.
5. Competitors in the ploughing classes to plough an area as specified in the schedule.
6. Ploughing to be finished by 3:00pm. 1 point will be deducted for every 2 minutes over the allocated time. If delayed by a neighbouring the Steward should be notified.
7. No tractor with a plough less than two furrows will be allowed to compete. Skimmers, chains, guide wheels and manufacturers’ tail piece are optional in all classes. In all classes, an Opening split shall be made at the start except Class 2 (High Cut) stubble.
8. No Handling use of feet or hand tools to shape furrow is Forbidden. Anyone who persistently violates this rule will be given a verbal warning on a second warning 20 points will be deducted.
9. Opening splits to be ploughed before 10.20 am (including competitors who share tractors) and judged before continuation of ploughing in all classes. (and no rolling of splits allowed). If opening splits have not been completed by 10.20am, one penalty point will be applied for every 2 minutes past 10.20am
10. Depth and width of furrow as per schedule must be adhered to. Failure to observe this could lead to disqualification.
11. All competitors to cut out and plough six furrows each side, except four furrows ploughs, which will cut out and plough eight furrows each side. All ploughmen must throw abroad and finish their furrow, except classes 8, 10, 11 & 16 No land press will be allowed.
12. All competitors starting must complete their work.
13. No help must be given to Competitors after the start of ploughing without the consent of the Stewards or they may be disqualified, except Classes 1, 15 and 16 where an assistant is allowed.
14. The Committee will not accept liability for any injury, loss or damage that may be sustained by any Competitor, Spectator, Livestock, Machinery, Vehicles or Equipment in connection with the Competitions, or otherwise.
15. The Committee reserve the right to accept or refuse any entry, and their decision on any matter arising out of the Competition shall be final.
